Why is the clinic called Dr Panda?
It Started with a Nickname.
Before Dr Panda Medical Centre was a medical group, there was simply Dr Panda.
During medical school, our founder developed a reputation for his
unmistakable panda-like dark eye circles, rounded build and easy-going nature. His classmates and batchmates affectionately started calling him “Panda.”
Then the Hollywood blockbuster “Kung Fu Panda”was released.
The timing couldn’t have been better.
The nickname became part of his identity among friends and colleagues — and years later, it became the inspiration for the name Dr Panda Medical Centre.
But the name is more than a joke from medical school.
To us, “Panda” represents the kind of doctor we want patients to feel comfortable seeing:
- Friendly without being casual.
- Calm without being indifferent.
- Professional without being intimidating.
- Caring without being complicated.
Because sometimes, the best healthcare starts with simply feeling comfortable enough to say:
“Doctor, I’m worried about this…”
